The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education is accepting nominations for four open seats on its Board of Directors. We seek experienced, engaged leaders who are committed to advancing cybersecurity education, workforce development, and academic–industry collaboration.

Desired Candidate Qualifications

Help strengthen CISSE’s leadership and national impact

As CISSE continues to expand its national impact across cybersecurity education, workforce development, and academic–industry collaboration, we are seeking candidates who bring strong, practice-driven expertise and a demonstrated commitment to advancing the mission of the organization.

CISSE particularly encourages nominations from individuals who can contribute expertise in one or more of the following areas.

Private-Sector Experience

Established ties to cybersecurity companies, defense contractors, technology firms, and commercial security organizations. CISSE’s continued growth depends on deeper integration with private-sector partners and leaders who can help expand those relationships.

Grant Writing and Sponsored Research

Experience developing competitive proposals, securing external funding, or managing sponsored research programs. This capability will support increased engagement with federal agencies, foundations, and academic institutions.

Communications and Public Engagement

Experience in digital communications, social media strategy, public messaging, marketing, or community engagement. Strong communication leadership is critical as CISSE expands its visibility and national reach.

The CISSE Community

Academic rigor informed by real-world expertise

The CISSE Colloquium brings together professors, program directors, researchers, students, government representatives, and cybersecurity practitioners. Participants have represented organizations including Google, AWS, Apple, Boeing, the National Guard, and institutions across the higher education community, creating a distinctive forum for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Board Service

Term length and nomination eligibility

Three-Year Term

Each elected Board member will serve a three-year term. At the conclusion of the term, Board members may seek election again if they wish to continue serving.

Who May Submit a Nomination

CISSE members in good standing may nominate themselves or nominate another qualified individual for consideration.

Nomination Process

How nominations and voting will proceed

Nominations will be collected through a nomination form. Additional candidate and voting information will follow after the nomination period closes.

Confirm Membership

The individual submitting the nomination must be a CISSE member in good standing.

Identify a Candidate

Members may nominate themselves or recommend another qualified individual.

Submit the Form

Complete the online nomination form by November 4, 2026, including the requested candidate information.

Election Information

Candidate statements and voting instructions will be distributed following the close of nominations.

Board Nomination Form

The online nomination form will be available beginning July 15, 2026. Nominators should be prepared to provide the candidate’s contact information, professional background, relevant experience, and a brief statement supporting the nomination.
