The Colloquium

Mission Statement

The Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE) advances cybersecurity education by connecting educators, practitioners, and institutions to share insight, shape emerging practices, and strengthen the global cybersecurity workforce.

Purpose

CISSE fosters a collaborative, cross-disciplinary community dedicated to defining current and emerging requirements in cybersecurity education. Through shared knowledge and collective expertise, we promote the development, evolution, and expansion of high-quality cybersecurity curricula worldwide.

What We Believe

CISSE and its members are guided by the following principles:

  • Cybersecurity education must continuously evolve to address an ever-changing threat landscape—across both technical and managerial domains.
  • Open collaboration drives progress, enabling meaningful exchange across academia, industry, and government.
  • A strong cybersecurity workforce begins with strong education, built on shared standards, innovation, and accessibility.

Our Role in the Community

CISSE serves as a platform to:

  • Empower educators at all levels to share research, teaching practices, and innovation in cybersecurity education.
  • Engage industry and practitioners to communicate workforce needs and help shape relevant, real-world curriculum.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders to align educational programs with national and global cybersecurity priorities.
  • Support publishers and content developers in refining instructional resources through community feedback.
  • Strengthen regional and global communities by fostering dialogue, partnerships, and local engagement.
  • Promote cybersecurity awareness broadly, contributing to a safer and more resilient digital ecosystem.
