Barbara Endicott-Popovsky

Barbara (January 31, 1947 – October 10, 2025) was a distinguished scholar and educator whose life reflected intellectual excellence, service, and quiet faith. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she demonstrated exceptional academic promise early and received a scientific research award as a teenager presented by Wernher von Braun. She earned multiple master’s degrees and a PhD, made lasting contributions to cybersecurity research and education, and served nearly twenty years at The Boeing Company. Entrepreneurship was a defining thread throughout her academic, professional, and community life. She is remembered with love for her wisdom, kindness, and devotion to family, friends, colleagues, and students.

The CISSE community extends our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of leadership, scholarship, and dedication to advancing cybersecurity education and practice will continue to inspire generations to come.
