Experiences in Designing and Implementing an Undergraduate Certificate in Information Security
This paper describes an undergraduate certificate in Information Security that supplements the Baccalaureate degrees in Computer Science and Technology and Information Systems at Radford University with comprehensive coverage of information security. The paper presents the rationale behind our decision to develop a certificate and discusses the issues we encountered while developing and implementing the curriculum for the certificate.
The Colloquium™ recognizes that the protection of information and infrastructures that are used to create, store, process, and communicate information is vital to business continuity and security. The goal of The Colloquium™ is to work together to define current and emerging requirements for information assurance education and to influence and encourage the development and expansion of information assurance curricula, especially at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
