Promoting an Information Security Program via a Student Organization
This paper discusses promoting the information security program at an academic institution through a student organization dedicated to information security. It first gives an overview of the benefits associated with having such a student organization. It then details the components required for the organization to be successful. Emphasis is placed on describing various types of popular and beneficial activities.
The Colloquium™ recognizes that the protection of information and infrastructures that are used to create, store, process, and communicate information is vital to business continuity and security. The goal of The Colloquium™ is to work together to define current and emerging requirements for information assurance education and to influence and encourage the development and expansion of information assurance curricula, especially at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
