Aimee Tabor

December 8, 2015

Aimée was a force for broadening participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and increasing access to education for women, minorities, and those underrepresented in STEM fields. She dedicated her too-short life to this goal at UC Berkeley, always advocating for access and change

Aimée was a long-time member of TRUST, joining the Center in 2011 as Program Manager where she threw herself into all operational aspects of the Center -- everything from planning and organizing events, managing budgets and expenditures, coordinating with partner universities and Center sponsors, and welcoming and mentoring new personnel as they joined TRUST.

Aimée soon after assumed the duties of TRUST Education Director, where she was instrumental in developing and running education and diversity programs for junior faculty, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, undergraduate students, and high school students. She did so with a genuine passion for the field and desire to broaden participation that was evident in the impact those programs had on the lives of so many people at Berkeley, at TRUST partner institutions, and nationwide. Aimée was a true force advancing TRUST education and will be missed.
