In 2000, The Founders Award was the first award given by The Colloquium to a nationally recognized "thought leader" and practitioner of Information Security education. Eleven years later, The Colloquium has expanded award recognition to honor cybersecurity leaders across Industry, Government and Academia.

For 25 years, the Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE) provides the sole forum in which the members of the academic field of cybersecurity gather to present and discuss emerging trends and ideas. Our government and industry partners actively collaborate to provide information on persistent cyber issues. This balance serves to provide input for our stakeholders across disciplines to reinforce a shared mission.

The Colloquium's goal is to work together to define current and emerging requirements for information assurance education and to influence and encourage the development and expansion of information assurance curricula, especially at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
